Ford has announced a dealer incentive program to encourage and help dealers sell alternative fuel vehicles, such as the E85 Taurus and Ford Ranger Pickup. Ford will reimburse a dealership up to $2,000 per event (maximum of $4,000 per year) for approved events, which could include educational workshops, fleet manager meetings, ride and drive events and expositions. In addition, dealers may use $1,000 of the event funds toward the purchase of a Ranger for use in public displays and events. Dealers must submit proposals to Ford's Alternative Fuels Brand Team and the events must occur before December 31, 1998. A booklet, "Hitting the Bull's Eye," has been prepared to assist dealerships in coordinating an event.
