SWAN Biomass Receives Technology Award

R&D Magazine has awarded one of its prestigious R&D 100 Awards to SWAN Biomass Company, which is working with Purdue University on a modified yeast that can be used in the production of ethanol from waste biomass. The project, which has been underway for five years, would convert wood, paper and agricultural wastes to ethanol. Funding for the project has been made available from SWAN, Amoco and the Consortium for Plant Biotechnology Research.
