| Senators Start Renewable Energy
Group
Seven U.S. senators recently announced they had established a Senate
Renewable and Efficiency Caucus, similar to a House of Representatives
group that has been effective in providing continued support for renewable
energy efforts. The announcement press conference also included an invitation.
"We urge you to join the new Senate Renewables and Efficiency Caucus.
American renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies help offset
fuel imports, create thousands of new American jobs, build our domestic
economy, create major export opportunities and provide clean, inexhaustible
energy for millions of customers," said the Caucus founders. The members
are Senators Wayne Allard (R-CO), Jeff Bingaman (D-NM), Jim Jeffords (R-VT),
Tim Johnson (D-SD), Bob Kerrey (D-NE), Richard Luger (R-IN) and Paul Wellstone
(D-MN). According to the members, the group will primarily provide information
sharing and does not commit its members to vote in any particular way on
any particular issue. |
