South Dakota Adds Plant Incentives

Recently the state legislature and Governor William Janklow acted to raise the amount of money available for the state's ethanol producer incentive in order to include a new ethanol plant planned for Huron, South Dakota. The proposed 5-7 million gallon a year dry mill facility is expected to be built following the extension of the federal ethanol tax incentives. The state producer incentive provides for up to $1 million dollars per year per ethanol producer, up to a maximum of $10 million per plant.
