Tosco, one of the largest independent petroleum refiners and marketers in the U.S., will expand its ethanol pilot program begun six months ago to provide consumers with MTBE-free gasoline. Tosco will continue to supply ethanol-blended gasoline at its 76 retail fuel outlets in Sonoma, Marin and Contra Costa counties. "Customers have been enthusiastic and we have received a number of requests to expand our program to additional counties, cities and vehicle fleets," said Tosco Vice President Duane Bordvick.
