Dear Friends of Ethanol:
On behalf of the Governors' Ethanol Coalition, you are invited to submit nominations for the Second Annual Governors' Ethanol Coalition Award for Excellence in the Promotion and Development of Ethanol. The Coalition will recognize individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions and have demonstrated leadership in the promotion and adoption of ethanol.
Your participation in this awards program will allow us to recognize the accomplishments of those involved with developing ethanol. As a fuel, ethanol plays a key role in our nation's energy needs, benefiting both the environment and the economy.
We welcome your nominations. A copy of The Guidelines and Nomination Form are enclosed. Nominations must be received by August 28, 1998. Please call the Governors' Ethanol Coalition at 402-471-2867, if you have questions about the awards.

The Governors' Ethanol Coalition
is seeking nominations for the
1998 Award for Excellence
in the Promotion and Development of Ethanol.
With these awards, the Coalition seeks to recognize businesses,
industrial facilities, individuals, institutions, media, associations,
schools and government organizations that have made
outstanding contributions to and have demonstrated leadership in the
promotion and accelerated use of ethanol as a transportation fuel.
Eligibility
This awards program is open internationally to businesses
industrial facilities,
individuals, institutions, media, associations, schools and government
organizations. To qualify, nominees must be in compliance with applicable
local,
state and federal regulations.

Criteria to Address in Your Written Description
(as applicable to your program)
| General Criteria
1. Award Recommendation Executive Summary: Briefly describe the program: project title, what was done, how it was implemented, and how it benefited ethanol development. The executive summary should be no longer than one page. 2. Partnerships: Describe project partnerships among local and regional development organizations, private industry, industrial councils, universities, government, etc. These partnerships should provide expertise, leadership, and financial commitments to the advancement of ethanol fuels. 3. Measurable Results: Specify the amount of ethanol used, energy savings, infrastructure development, number of vehicles purchased and people affected and impacts of commercialization. 4. Sustainability: Length of time the project has been operational. 5. Transferability: Applicability to other programs or projects. |
Eligible Award Categories
Commercial Technology Innovations: This category focuses on new technologies and innovative techniques for the development and promotion of ethanol. Describe the projected magnitude of advancements for commercialization to the ethanol industry and progress made to date. Excellence: This category Judging/Notification/Presentation of Awards |
