Ethanol Offers Solution for High
Fuel Price, Dependence

"Considering the current plight of corn producers, and given the recent high fuel prices, something should be done both to relieve high corn supplies to improve prices, and to relieve short supplies of gasoline to bring down prices for that commodity.

"The answer to the low corn price/high gasoline price dilemma is standing in our fields. Corn, processed into ethanol, yields an alternative market and the potential to boost farm income without Uncle Sam's thick wallet. Also, adding ethanol to the national pipeline boosts the supply of fuel for transportation.

"Added fuel supplies should add up to reduced prices, if our understanding of the law of supply and demand is correct."
