Ethanol Demand Projected to
Grow by 10 Percent a Year

According to a study by the Freedonia Group, the demand for ethanol's use as a fuel additive will grow by ten percent a year through 2004. The authors of the study primarily attributed the growth in ethanol to the ban of MTBE for use in California, which will be followed in other states.

The study also predicted dramatic declines for other petroleum additives such as MTBE.
