Masada Announces Insurance Underwriter

New York Masada OxyNol announced the acquisition of insurance for the technical performance of the planned waste-to-ethanol facility in Middletown, New York. Hartford Steam Boiler and Insurance Company, has agreed to issue a policy for the Orange Recycling and Ethanol Production Facility.

"Hartford Steam Boiler has a history of identifying and underwriting innovative technologies and processes in major industries," said Masada chairman Daryl Harms. 'They bring to this venture vast industry experience to assist us in bringing this technology to market."

The facility will utilize Masada's patented OxyNolr Process to convert municipal solid waste and sewage sludge to ethanol and other products. The Middletown facility will have the capacity to process up to 230 thousand tons of municipal solid waste and 49 thousand tons of sewage sludge annually to produce 9.5 million gallons of ethanol per year.

The facility should be operational in 2001 and employ 200 people.
