Coalition membership is being considered by the province of
Jilin, China. Jilin province grew 20 percent of the national corn crop in 1999
and the Changchun First Automobile Works is based in the province. The
province's Governor, Hong Hu, has expressed considerable interest in being an
international affiliate of the Coalition. Representatives of the provincial
government are expected to attend the Coalition's meeting in San Francisco in
March to pursue membership details.
