Nebraska
Nebraska's legislature extended to 2003 the state's
incentives to ethanol producers that expand existing production
facilities. The credits were to end in 2000 and limited plants to a
five-year, $25 million maximum.
Under the bill,
LB 605, producers that expand their production capacity could receive an
additional $750,000 per year until 2003.
It is estimated that when the incentives end in 2003,
the state will have provided nearly $180 million to the seven ethanol
producers in Nebraska.
