Nebraska Extends Ethanol Producers Credits

Nebraska

Nebraska's legislature extended to 2003 the state's incentives to ethanol producers that expand existing production facilities.  The credits were to end in 2000 and limited plants to a five-year, $25 million maximum.

Under the bill, LB 605, producers that expand their production capacity could receive an additional $750,000 per year until 2003.

It is estimated that when the incentives end in 2003, the state will have provided nearly $180 million to the seven ethanol producers in Nebraska.
