Indiana Senator
Richard Lugar has introduced legislation which would provide $49 million each
year over six years for research into the development of bio-based fuels and
chemicals. "We must seek sources of food, energy, chemicals and materials
that are sustainable," said Lugar. "Bio-fuels and bio-chemicals increase
energy independence and security, reduce greenhouse gases and would
significantly improve rural economies in America and around the
world."
