Nebraska Approves Funding for
Ethanol Production Efficiency
The Nebraska Corn Board has approved $400,000 in checkoff funding for research that would include increasing ethanol production efficiency. Nebraska is working with the states of Iowa, Illinois and Michigan in research efforts aimed at improving the efficiency of dry mill ethanol facilities by removing the germ from the corn kernel prior to processing. The germ would then be processed into corn oil for an additional value-added market.
