Williams Announces Ethanol Storage Agreement in California
Williams Bio-Energy announced an ethanol storage agreement with Kinder Morgan Energy Partners to store 630,000 gallons of ethanol at the company's Carson, California facility. The arrangement will enable the sale of ethanol to the Los Angeles and San Diego markets by the fourth quarter of this year.
"We're committed to making a smooth transition to ethanol as an environmentally-friendly fuel additive in the California market," said Ron Miller of Williams Bio-Energy. "That's why we're bringing supply to California more than a year ahead of the MTBE phase-out, allowing refiners to switch from MTBE to ethanol ahead of schedule." According to Williams, they will provide a minimum of 100 million gallons of ethanol per year to California by the fourth quarter of 2002.
