Tosco Switches From MTBE
to Ethanol in California

Recent news accounts have reported that Tosco Corporation, the largest independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products, has converted its California gasoline terminals from MTBE to ethanol.  The move is expected to result in the use of approximately 80 million gallons of ethanol per year.  Tosco's action beats the state-imposed MTBE phase out of December 31, 2002.
