Nebraska Undertakes Ethanol Promotion Campaign
The State of
Nebraska, led by Coalition Chairman and Governor Mike Johanns, has begun a
statewide consumer education campaign that seeks to increase the use of
ethanol-blended fuels. The theme of the campaign, "Let's Get With it,
Nebraska! E-10 Unleaded with Ethanol," encourages Nebraskans to choose
ethanol at the pump. "This campaign theme challenges all Nebraskans to
rally around a homegrown product that is good for the Nebraska economy,
good for Nebraska agriculture, good for Nebraska drivers, good for the
environment and good for the nation," Governor Johanns said.
"People simply haven't understood the facts regarding the
outstanding benefits of this gasoline choice," said Lee Klein, a Battle
Creek, Nebraska corn producer and president of the National Corn Growers
Association. Ethanol is a high-octane, clean-burning fuel made from corn
and other renewable resources. "Nebraska can take the lead in showing the
rest of the nation that this clean air, renewable fuel makes sense for
America."
