As part of an agreement to re-open its pipeline, Longhorn Partners Pipeline has agreed to prohibit pipeline shipment of MTBE in the 700-mile petroleum pipeline running from Houston to El Paso, Texas. The re-opening was contingent upon several safety factors including a pledge that MTBE-blended products would not be shipped in the pipeline.
