The Governors' Ethanol Coalition has recently grown to 23 member states with the addition of North Carolina Governor James Hunt. In a letter to Coalition Chair and Kansas Governor Graves, Hunt expressed his enthusiasm for ethanol, including the potential for in-state ethanol production. "Joining this Coalition is a positive move that indicates our commitment to renewable sources of energy and protection of air quality," Hunt said. "North Carolina is very interested in the possibility of expanding its use of ethanol. This would help us with the reduction of purchases of foreign oil and fossil fuel products."
